The Reading Room update
Nov. 17th, 2009 10:18 pmInterestingly mixed reaction to "Brass Tacks" by Gloria Lancaster. A big thank you to our anonymous reccer and everyone who read and joined in.
The fic for this week is:
"Black Sheep" by HG
http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/20/blacksheep.html.
Look out for my post here on 19 November.
Looking a bit further ahead, you are warmly invited to the Reading Room Christmas party, to be held here on 17 December.
To decide on a suitably indulgent seasonal fic for the occasion, I thought I'd ask for reccs for favourite Christmas fics. Our esteemed mod then suggested we could have a vote to choose which one to read that week. At this point, I confess I've never created a poll before, but there's always a first time (no pun intended. *g*).
To kick off, please comment below with a recc for your favourite seasonal fic: Christmas, mid-winter holiday, winter solstice, pagan new year, as you wish.
The Schedule:
26 November "The Snowman with the Dark Coat" by Castalia
http://hatstand.slashcity.net/castalia/snowman.html
http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/8/thesnowman.html
Printed in: Roses and Lavender 4, Allamagoosa Press, 2001
3 December "Christmas Snow" by PFL

Printed in: Virtual Pros: The Christmas Edition, Bovinity Press, 1998
10 December “Scenes from the Edge” by Kate MacLean, recced by

Date: 2009-11-18 02:08 pm (UTC)I had a little look... One of these days I'm going to make a list of all the fics from the Reading Room, for convenience and so we can pat ourselves on the back for all that reading.

Date: 2009-11-18 02:12 pm (UTC)I was thinking, however, that it's long - that might be a good argument for a fic to read over the Christmas hols, but the lead-up to Christmas tends to be a bit frenetic.
Thanks for dropping by.
