I've been doing some housekeeping (in a sort of quiet, fairies-in-the-night kind of way (*waves to co-mods*) and firstly I've gone through and made sure that we have tags on every single post - whee! You can find them in the new Links List on the sidebar, under "CI5hq Index".
I also noticed that we have repetitions of recs and so on, which is fab cos many and different opinions are a good thing, but there was no easy way to find a specific review before, so I've added an index, via the tagging system, to the community. You can now see what fics have been recced by either title or author, what vids were posted by vidder, art by artists and a few other things as well. There are things I've not specifically tagged as yet - wallpapers, icons etc, mostly - cos I wanted to think about those for a bit... Also, just because a title or author is on the list doesn't mean that the story was recommended or reviewed - it may simply have been posted to the comm, or mentioned in other contexts (errata corrected, etc). But you can see all that more easily now.. *g* Thinking of reccing Suitable Gravity? Check out the recs that already exist, and see what else you might want to say! Reckon Sebastian is underrepresented? Review her!
Which leads me to... I think it'll be quiet around here with the Reading Room on holiday - and I've just noticed someone asking what people are currently reading over at the ProsLit Yahoo Group too, so...
Is anyone up for a game of Rec-in-10? Rec or review the stories you've been reading recently - expand our index! They don't have to be long posts - 10 words or so should do it... what have you been reading? What's good? What's lousy? Post to let us know? *g*

Date: 2009-08-11 06:17 pm (UTC)I just came to LJ to post something here to, and there you are, already on top of it! *g*
Goes to check out the index...
And I've just noticed that the Story recommendation tag is not clickable, or is that by design?

Date: 2009-08-11 07:14 pm (UTC)The Story Rec tag isn't clickable, because we've only got 10 links available, and we used to use tags for Online recs, Zine recs and ProsLib recs, only now that takes up too many links - so I need to go back through the entries and tag all the recs just as "Recs" - or "Story Review/Rec" perhaps - before I can actually use a single tag for that link. *headdesk* Didn't realise that of course until after I'd done everything else... *headdeskheaddesk* So that's the one currently-known flaw in an otherwise damned fine plan... *g*
D'you think the rest looks like it'll be useful, though? I've been meaning to do this for ages, just... as usual... took my time... *g*

Date: 2009-08-11 07:45 pm (UTC)Oh, very!
I wouldn't know how to find my way around without it, and palelyloitering is such a great resource, too!
You just have to stick around Pros forever, you know! :D

Date: 2009-08-11 10:56 pm (UTC)Re. the FAQ sub-index, I have a couple of posts over on my lj (http://kiwisue.livejournal.com/tag/pros+background+research), including the dum-dum one, that could be linked.
And I recently found a fab site for the guns used in the series. "The Professionals has it's own page (http://www.imfdb.org/index.php?title=The_Professionals) over at the Internet Movie Firearms Database (imfdb).
Recs? I have to go to work, but will think on it!
