According to some person on Reddit, today is Fanfic Author Appreciation Day. I guess if it wasn't before, it is now.

I'd like to express my appreciation for all the authors whose fanfic I've read this year. Fanfic makes my life much better, and I am grateful for all the effort and love you have put into your stories. Thank you.
