A few days back (because that seems to be how this is running for me), I posted an entry for other person POV and mentioned that I couldn't find a zine I'd gotten years ago, and definitely couldn't remember the name.
Well... I didn't find the file, but thanks to
byslantedlight I now have a link to the AO3 post! Rainbow Chasers by HG it is.
The initial description is:
Am hoping this counts as curtain fic, although now I'm not sure.

The initial description is:
Basically, Doyle's a street-wise high-class prostitute, working for a call service named Housecalls (which also did legit work as a cover). He has a wealthy client who begs off, and Bodie (as a pseudo-merc employed by the client) comes in the client's place. They have a wonderful night, and Bodie promises to get in touch when he has a more settled address (oh, and Doyle is temporarily blinded because original client, so he can't actually see Bodie), but he loses the contact info (and I think the client ends up assassinated in the next few days, so Bodie lays low anyway). But it's really about how two people meet, fall apart, and meet again, and how they get to the state of "old married couple-dom" (something not automatically guaranteed). There is a house - actually two houses - which are being worked on; they search for the second house together, they discuss the color scheme, and Bodie helps with some renovation work. He even gives Doyle a gift certificate to get the house decorated.
Years pass - and they meet up again (during a case). Doyle is still at Housecalls, and Bodie has moved on to CI5. Only Doyle doesn't know Bodie is the guy who "died" with the client's assassination.
And that's just the beginning!
Am hoping this counts as curtain fic, although now I'm not sure.
