It's obviously Doyle, but I was wondering if anyone could tell if it's from a particular story. It may be of the "Doyle-as-elf" variety (which may or may not be good), but I'm kind of curious.

Ah, I wondered about that too... More Pros-inspired art selling for big bucks, which is apparently okay... But that aside, it does look like a rather gorgeous picture in its own right, and I wondered if it was from a zine/fic as well...

The Hunting, in its many parts, by Jane of Australia, is pretty much the quintessential Doyle-as-elf saga. I doubt if this picture was created for it, but possibly in homage to it.

The angle on the picture is a little odd, but I wonder if it is the same picture as this in an article about Other Times and Places (http://fanlore.org/wiki/Other_Times_and_Places)? I was only looking at it this morning, after starlite876 mentioned a story in it in the angels discussion (http://ci5hq.livejournal.com/237710.html). If it is for OTP 3, then skimming the titles, there's a Lord of the Forest in that zine...

I think it looks more like Doyle as some sort of Faun or Satyr as to my knowledge Elves don't have horns on their heads. :) Maybe that might help you find out what story it belongs to? :)

That's the zine. Personally I find the picture quite scary and somewhat disturbing. LOL! I've seen the zine and I admit I couldn't have that in my house! :) I'd be having nightmares. *bad kat*

Yeah, I agree about this. Other Times and Places 3 is the one zine in the series that I don't have yet, so can't check whether there's a story that matches a satyr rather than an elf... though "Lord of the Forest" sounds as if it might...

I wish I was! Everything I know, I know from PalelyLoitering and the Hatstand list! (And borrowed zines, and LJ comments, and the pictures on fanlore.org, and, well, really, nothing of what I know is original.)

It's not a Gryphon zine, though: I know that much. I'm pretty sure it's out of print.
