Seeing as slanted asked so nicely...

Cards and Cards on the Table (2 seperate stories, but following on) by Georgina Kirrin, in Motet #3 in B and D.

These two are just so perfect. First part is in Bodie's POV. He's been living in America, making a living out there and living with a boyfriend. Doyle still keeps in contact with him but Bodie cant make himself reply. Oh and Doyle is married with a young daughter. He's also a very high up Police Officer (Superintendant??).

The second part finds Bodie coming back to England to find Doyle and help him through a very rough time (wont tell you what cos you'll just have to read it *grins*), and the way they become close again until Bodie's life in America catches up with him unexpectedly and things take a turn for the...well, I wont spoil it for you. But suffice to say it's brilliant.

Fruit of the Spirit by Cherilyn. Novel zine and it is a wonderful read. Charts B&D's days back when they were first paired up and 'hated' each other on sight! The way they got over the many obstacles to become first friends and then lovers is excellent and it's the one zine I could read over and over and not become bored.

Shall let someone else take up the baton now :-)

I have just read these fics not long ago - excellent recs! The whole premise of it worried me to start with, I had that kind of sinking feeling I get when they seem to have been irredeemably separated, but the writing's so good that I even got past that, and then of course the story just... well, it works out beautifully, doesn't it?! I really do like everything of Georgina Kirrin's that I've read so far too.

Cherilyn's Fruit of the Spirit is one I want to read again - but I have to admit that the first (and only) time I read it, I was less keen on it than I was expecting to be. I seem to remember that they got really sort of loving of each other towards the end, and I can't quite reconcile how overt they were with my idea of them (I have the same thing with O. Yardley's Injured Innocents, for some reason) (doesn't that sound mean of me, somehow?! I think it was to do with the language used though...). I'm not sorry that I read it at all, but... well, I want to read it again to see if I was right the first time!

As they say, to each his own. I love II too, but then I undoubtedly see the boys differently to you. Luckily Pros fandom is large enough - it seems - to have something for everyone.

I too have just read both parts of the Cards story and was so pleased to discover yet another very good writer in Georgina Kirrin - really loved it.
