11 August Reading Room: Poll
Aug. 2nd, 2023 11:31 pmBarring unforeseen events, I will be facilitating another reading room discussion on Friday, 11 August. This is a post to help decide on the story to be discussed.
I feel kind of weird holding power over all the selections for the current series of reading rooms. On the other hand, it is convenient for me. As I mentioned before, I am playing a historically focused reading game in which I read a selection of fics from each year. So far, for better immersion, I've been avoiding reading any fics outside the game. It's nice to be able to participate in reading rooms without losing that focus, and of course, that's easier if I pick the fics.
With that in mind, two fics from 1992 that would fit my reading schedule are Floral Arrangement by M. Fae Glasgow (about 13,000 words), a supernatural fic in whichBodie has died and returns as a ghost *, and Bonding by Stew (22,241 words), a fic that relates the early growth of Bodie and Doyle's relationship as both friends and lovers. (Floral Arrangement was the subject of a reading room discussion in 2010.)
If you think you will participate in the August 11th reading room, please vote in the two polls below. One asks you to choose one fic you would prefer to read. The other asks you to indicate all fics you would be willing to read. The polls will close on Saturday night, North American Mountain time.
