I love The Feast of Epiphany by Verlaine. Could be the coziness of it all: Bodie, Doyle and their little girl, celebrating Christmas (and other, ordinary days). Could be my own adopted child, the colour of chocolate. Could be that it's just a lovely set of short snippets, so perfectly described, it's easy to imagine the scenes Verlaine writes. And yet, there are still questions. Who exactly was Avril Bodie to our Bodie? Sister, daughter, adopted? The story never says.
If you fall in love with Epiphany, there's a sequel, too!
