[cross-posted to The Safehouse and Yahoo Pros-Lit]
The moderators have kindly allowed me to let you know about a pro novel I wrote
called "Immortal Quest" which is due out in September from Edge SF of Canada, as
it was "inspired by" the Lads.
It's currently listed for pre-orders at amazon and Barnes & Noble (under
Alexandra MacKenzie). The novel features London police detective Nick Watson
(incorrectly listed as "Wilson" on the ordering sites), a hard-headed,
no-nonsense fellow (who just happens to have short dark hair and blue eyes) who
meets a burglar one night named Marlen (who just happens to have long auburn
hair and green eyes) who claims to be his best friend. Marlen also claims to be
500 years old, able to practice magic, and in dire need of Nick's help to save
the world, if only Nick would remember who he is.
The characters are not meant to be Bodie and Doyle with the serial
numbers rubbed off, they're original characters, though as mentioned,
they do resemble the Lads physically, the story is set in Britain, and
they do have a slashy relationship. Pros fans would probably find many things in
it that seem familiar.
Pending permission from the publisher, I’ll try to post an excerpt.
Thanks for letting me post a commerical message, and cheers to all who've
enjoyed my fanfiction over the years!
Cheers,
Alex (Alexandra) MacKenzie
