Yes, I love that Doyle has such a strong sense of justice too! Okay, not all the time, not when he's decided that someone's worth throwing off a building (echoes of Cowley!) but in general he does... and there's the echo of it here with the boy on the bike. I think I definitely fed that into the way I read Doyle in this ep, with the kid - he's reacting against the slur against Doyle and Gabe, and the fact that "poofter" was a slur at all. I don't think he's just being angry cos someone's calling him a name, rather than because someone's calling a name that shouldn't be an insult to start with...

He does rather seem to swing between helpless and competent-tough Doyle... I think I feel a bit dizzy with it...!

The kiss at the end - for me it was Gabe admitting that he did still love Doyle in the same way that they'd always loved each other, that deeply. Not just as friends, but as more than that - it was Gabe's confession to Doyle, that it had all been real, even if their lives were now going in different directions...
