She convinced me. Writers are never going to convince everybody! That's part of the fun of this comm and the recs.

Certainly for the space of a story I was convinced. It's not something I see in canon -- and for all that I love angst, I tend to write the lads much lighter -- but I think those skills of persuasion is what effective writing is largely about.

And yet no matter how good the writer, every work will not please every reader. It's a difficult lesson for writers to absorb. *g*
